Obituary of Robert G. Birmingham
Robert G. Birmingham, 75, of Freehold Township died Monday, October 18, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Birmingham was born in New Brunswick and had resided in Freehold Township for the past 41 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Birmingham was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School, New Brunswick, Class of 1952 and Seton Hall University, Class of 1956.
Mr. Birmingham was Vice President of Finance at Rahway Hospital, Rahway where he was employed for 30 years before his retirement in 1994.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a life member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1454, both of Freehold.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel J. and William J. Birmingham.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years Mary Hoagland Birmingham; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Patricia Birmingham, Mechanicsville, Virginia; three daughters, Sheila Birmingham, Eatontown, Catharine Birmingham, Manalapan Township and Mary Jensen and her husband Scott, Stafford, Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Caitlyn, Megan, and Zachary Jensen and Erin, Colleen, Shannon, and Mary Cait Birmingham.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. Memorial donation to St. Vincent de Paul Society, care of St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
