Obituary of Gladys Violet DuBois Soden
Gladys Violet DuBois Soden, 87, of Englishtown and Freehold went to join our Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Soden was born in Spotswood.
Gladys worked at Freehold Raceway before her retirement.
She attended the First Baptist Church, Freehold; Freehold Township Senior Citizens, and a 25 years member of the Daughters of America where she had served as secretary.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Grace DuBois, and brothers and sisters, Arthur Dubois, Fred DuBois, Anna Vader, Luella Davison, Marie Shutzer Shiroky and Evelyn Hopkins. Her husband, Marvin Soden, died in 1971.
She is survived by her four children, Grace Burke and her husband Bill, La Vergne, Tenn., Parker Bohn, Jr., Jackson Township and Jean Bohn, Freehold, Robert Bohn and his wife Judy, West Virginia and Ernest Bohn and his wife Pamela, Whiting; 12 grandchildren, Cindy Morris, Florida, Parker Bohn, III, Walter Burke, Jennifer Gold, Jacqueline Bennett, all of New Jersey, Joanann Goeringer, South Dakota, William Burke, III, Wayne Burke, and Gladys Martin, all of Tennessee, and Dawn Long, Robert Bohn, Jr., and Brian Bohn, all of Virginia; 38 great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Olive Theodor and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
