Obituary of Howard R. Haviland

Howard R. Haviland, Sr., 98, of the Clarksburg section of Millstone Township passed away, Thursday, November 11, 2010 in Ohio. He was born on May 23, 1912 in Holmeson, the son of the late Reuben and Adleona Storer Haviland. He was a member of B.P.O.E Lodge No. 2613, Millstone Township, and an Ex-Chief of the Millstone Township Fire Company. He was an AMWAY distributor and worked for 30 years at the A. & M. Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Gladys Haviland; his children, Howard and Elsie Haviland, Delaware, Jan and Jay Robson, Ohio, Judy and Chuck Simmons, California, Glenn and Karin Haviland, New Jersey, Alan and Ruthi Haviland, California; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Joan Haviland, and two sisters, Nettie and Eva. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
