Obituary of Sam Bernstein

Sam Bernstein, 94, of Freehold Township. died Thursday November 11, 2010 at home. He was born in Manchester, England on January 30, 1916. He was married for 64 years to the former Esther Goldfarb who died in 2002. He was a former member of Congregation Agudath Achim, Freehold. He attended schools in Montreal, Canada. He was employed in the garment industry for 50 years before his retirement. Surviving are two daughters, Anita Jones, Jackson Township and Joan Resnick, Monroe Township; three brothers, Nat Bernstein and his wife Sarah, Irving Bernstein and his wife Bernice, and Al Bernstein and his wife, Minnie, all of Montreal, Canada, two sisters, Annie Price and Rae Resnick, both of Toronto, Canada; four grandchildren, Edward I. Jones, Jackson Township, Barry Jones and his wife Patty, Freehold Township, Neil Resnick and his wife Keiko, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Craig Resnick, Asbury Park; four great grandchildren, Jack and Carly Jones, Freehold Township, Joshua Resnick, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Jacob Moore, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold Township.
