Obituary of Frederick Parrish

Reverend Frederick Parrish, age 70, of Howell, NJ departed this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at University Medical Center, Newark, N.J. He was born and lived his entire life in Freehold and Howell, N.J. He served four years in the US Army and retired after twenty years of service with Chevron/Gulf/GATX Oil Refinery, Staten Island, NY in 2002 He currently served as Pastor of Israel Memorial AME Church, Newark, NJ. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing. Reverend Parrish was predeceased by his mother, Edna Mae and father, William, brothers, Stanley, Douglas, Donald, Thomas, Robert and stepson Steve Canty. He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife Crystal Lorraine, daughters Dena Lynn Olden, Merritt Island, Florida, Delcia Elaine Ellis, Norfolk, Virginia, Yvette Monique Thompson (Walter), Washington, DC, Melanie Allen (Robert), Howell, NJ, stepdaughter Tracey Cassandra Calderon (Isaias), Neptune, NJ, his sisters Dorothy Taylor, Neptune, NJ, Edna Mae Oglesby, Freehold, NJ and brother, Thomas of Long Branch, NJ. Grandchildren, Frederick, Derrick, Ja’Mel & Dysheena Parrish, La’Tief Forbes, Isaias and Cameron Calderon, Stephanie & Kevin Markham and Alim Canty, his mother-in-law Fannie B. Lindsey, sister-in-law Carol Dixson and a host of extended family members and friends. The Family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 am - 12:00, Monday, December 13, with Home Going Celebration at 12:00 noon at Bethel AME Church, 1001 Cookman Avenue Asbury Park, N. J. Committal service will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. Arrangements are under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, NJ.
