Obituary of Roy Evans Williams
Roy Evans Williams, Sr., 73, of Manalapan Township died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mr. Williams was born in Millen, Georgia.
He was a harness racehorse trainer and driver for over 40 years and a member of the U.S. Trotting Association.
Surviving are his wife, Fawn Howeth Williams; two sons, Roy Williams, Jr. and wife Janet and Christopher Williams; two daughters, Caroline Williams and Rhonda Wall and husband Donald; two stepsons, Robert Howeth and Jeffery Oross and wife Olga; four brothers, Arnold Williams, W.T. Williams, Kenny Williams, and Terry Williams; four sisters, Peggy Becton, Betty Crosby, Lorene Blackburn, and Gloria Martin; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 1:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 81 West Main Street, Freehold on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Memorial donations to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick would be appreciated.
