Obituary of Olive Doris Theodor

Updated Service Information-Service will be held on Wednesday Olive Doris Theodor, 85, of Howell Township passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at home with family at her side. Born in Spring Lake, Mrs. Theodor resided her entire life in Freehold and Howell Township. She was very active with the Howell Youth Organization and chaperoned their Friday and Saturday night youth dances and coached softball for many years. Olive was a leader with the Girl Scouts of America and also a member of the Howell Township Senior Citizens. She enjoyed and looked forward to her Freehold Regional High School, Class of 1943 reunions and frequent trips to Lancaster, Pa. Most importantly, Olive was a loving and giving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Olive was predeceased by her first husband, Norman Maxfield in 1944, and John Theodor, Sr., her husband of 59 years, in 2005; grandsons, Rickey and Michael Maxfield; parents, Arthur and Grace DuBois; and brothers and sisters, Arthur DuBois, Fred DuBois, Evelyn Hopkins, Anna Vader, Marie Shutzer Shiroky, Luella Davison, and Gladys Soden. She is survived by her children, Norman Maxfield and his wife Joyce, John Theodor, Jr., Nancy Chmura and her husband Edward, all of Howell Twp., Linda Dennison and her husband Larry, Melbourne, Florida, and Joann Harris, Weatherford, Texas; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Maxfield, Carrie Theodor, Michelle Lucas, John Theodor III, Kimberly Chmura, Edward Chmura III, Danielle Dennison, and Justin and Christopher Harris; and 12 great-grandchildren, Eric and Richie Roy Maxfield, Anthony and Samantha Theodor, Nicole Perek, Keith Washington, Mychaela, William, Krystyn, and Malinda Lucas, and Edward and Emily Chmura and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside services will be held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
