Obituary of Edward G. O'Brien

Edward G. O’Brien, 73, of Farmingdale died Tuesday, January 4, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. He was born in Harrison. Mr. O’Brien was a U.S. Army veteran. He and his wife owned and operated O’Brien’s News Service, Brick Township. He was also employed at the Asbury Park Press. Prior to that they owned and operated Pixie’s Inn, Farmingdale. Mr. O’Brien was formerly employed at Frequency Engineering, Farmingdale. Surviving are his wife, Marie Voltz O’Brien; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The interment will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
