Obituary of Wanda Wilder
Wanda Wilder, 76, of Manchester Township, formerly of Freehold Township died Friday, January 7, 2011 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Manhattan, New York and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1952 with a ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Residing in Freehold Township she was a Girl Scout Den Mother.
She was a produce manager for Foodtown in Manalapan Township and Sea Bright before retiring in 1995. She was an avid butterfly collector. She looked forward to the weekends preparing a big breakfast and playing cards with her family as well as working on crossword puzzles and watching her favorite game shows.
Daughter of the late Fabian Matulis and Irene Gorczynski Matulis; she was also predeceased by her husband, James Wilder, her two sisters, Adele McNeill and Irene Matulis DiLeo; her brother-in-law, Joseph DiLeo; and her son-in-law, Robert Cahill.
Surviving are two sons, Fabian Wilder, Howell Township, and Ronald Wilder, Freehold Township; three daughters, Catherine Cahill, Freehold Township, Constance Krischik and her husband, Russell, Manchester Township, and Donna Treney, Florida; her brother-in-law, William McNeill; a niece, Wanda Lewey; a nephew, James McNeill; her grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, Beth, Jessica, Casey, and Kyle; and a great granddaughter, Jael.
The family deeply appreciates all the support from the Meridian Hospice Staff.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Donations in her memory to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 would be appreciated.
