Obituary of Andrew Joseph Madzin
Andrew Joseph Madzin, 84 of Colts Neck, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at home. Born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, he lived there and in Sayreville prior to moving to Colts Neck 42 years ago.
Mr. Madzin was the President and Owner of Jersey Freight Lines, Carteret, for the past 20 years. Prior to that, he was employed at Halls Motor Lines, now known as Flying Tigers Motor Lines.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two, serving in the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 54, Freehold.
Mr. Madzin was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck. He was a member of the Traffic Club, Newark, Jersey Coast Traffic Club, Raritan Traffic Club, and the Harrison Traffic Club.
Mr. Madzin attended Scranton University and Pace University.
Son of the late Andrew and Mary Juba Madzin, he was also predeceased by a brother, Bernard Madzin.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Capone Madzin; two sons, Drew Madzin and his wife, Patricia, Howell Township, and Paul Madzin, Marlboro Township; his grandchildren, Andrew, Philip and Elizabeth Madzin; a brother, Paul Madzin, Scranton, Pennsylvania; two sisters. Mary Madzin, Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Ann Perwin and her husband Roger, Reno, Nevada.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Colts Neck on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. Donations in his memory to the Colts Neck First Aid Squad, P.O.
