Obituary of Julia Anne McNinnie

Julia Anne McNinnie, 84, of Freehold died Friday, January 21, 2010 at Wedgwood Gardens, Freehold Township. Mrs. McNinnie was born in the Everett section of Holmdel Township and had resided in Colts Neck before moving to Freehold in 1949. She was an inspector for Brockway Glass Company, Freehold before her retirement. Prior to that she was employed as a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II, a weaver the A.& M. Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold, and assisted her husband in the operation of Warren’s Taxi, Freehold. Mrs. McNinnie was an avid knitter and gardener. Her husband, Warren McNinnie, died in 1986. Surviving are a son, John McNinnie, Reisterstown, Maryland; a daughter, Eileen McNinnie, Goffstown, N.H.; two sisters, Ginger Franklin and Viola Tackett; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Irlbacher; and her honorary grandchildren, Carl, Eric, and Liam Muhler. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holmdel Church Cemetery, Holmdel. Memorial donations to the American Lung Association would be appreciated.
