Obituary of Anthony Gig Young

Anthony Gig Young, 70, of Freehold Township, formerly of Brielle passed away on January 26, 2016 at home. He was born in New York City to Luther and Mabel Young. He was lovingly called “Gig” by his family and close friends. Anthony was a lover of music especially jazz. He was a Vietnam War veteran and accomplished musician playing the saxophone and clarinet in the U.S. Army Band. He retired from JP Morgan Chase as a technology security information advisor and administrator after 35 years. He leaves behind his wife, Elena; a sister, Linda; five daughters, Gabrielle, Nicole, Shanese, Joyell, and Tameka; nephews, Edward and Amir; grandchildren, Denver, Jr., Joshua, Jacob, Brittany, Brianna, Ethan, Elijah, and Erica; his aunts Helen and Rita; and a host of cousins whom he loved dearly. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
