Obituary of Martha Locklear

Martha Locklear, 76, of Freehold died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at John L. Montgomery Medical Home, Freehold Township. Born in John’s Island, South Carolina, she lived most of her life in Freehold. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Locklear; and her son, Malaciah Keith Locklear. Surviving are a daughter, Herbertina McKeever, Neptune Township; a daughter-in-law, Marquesa Locklear, Jackson Township; two brothers, Wesley Gadsden, Jersey City, and Christopher Gadsden, Charleston, South Carolina; a sister, LaVern Gadsden-Brown, Hollywood, South Carolina; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 136 Wemrock Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 8:30 A.M. until service time. Interment will be held at St. Stephen A.M.E. Church Cemetery, John’s Island, South Carolina. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
