Obituary of Mary W. Lempka
Mary W. Lempka, 84, of Freehold died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson Township. Mrs. Lempka was born in Worchester, Massachusetts and moved to Freehold at an early age.
She was a switchboard operator for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and later at the Monmouth County Court House and the Central Jersey Bank and Trust Company.
Mrs. Lempka was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold.
She was the widow of Edward A. Lempka who died in 1980. She was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Frank Byrne and a granddaughter, Marissa Visalli.
Surviving are her children, Frances Byrne, Jane Visalli and husband Joseph, Carol Griffin and husband Steven, Edward Lempka and wife Margaret, John Lempka and wife Leslie, David Lempka and wife Suzanne and Christine Sulva and husband John; and 12 grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Janice Watt; and a nephew, Joseph Dey.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Monday at 8:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
