Obituary of Elizabeth Lewis
Elizabeth Lewis, 96, of Freehold, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at home. She was born in Hillsboro, Maryland.
Mrs. Lewis was a Human Services Technician for Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for 32 years, retiring several years ago.
She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, and was a member of the Ida B. Simpson Missionary Society and the Golden Age Club of the Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Lewis, who died in 2001.
Surviving are her sons, Timothy P. Lewis, and Rodney Lewis and his wife, Charlette; a daughter, Lenora Lewis Thomas; a brother, Victor Chambers; a devoted niece, Mary Louise Brown; six grandchildren, Maneka Brinson, Timothy Hood, Rasool Thomas, Shayla Lewis, Rodney Lewis, Jr., and Jasmine Lewis; and one great grandchild, Najada Hester.
Funeral services will be held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Road, Freehold, on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Entombment to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
