Obituary of Brother Michael Corry
Brother Michael Corry, F.S.C., 74, of Lincroft died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Pennsylvania. Brother Michael was born in New York City and received the Holy Habit of the Christian Brothers on September 7, 1954.
Brother Michael was a graduate of Catholic University, Washington, D. C. He earned a Master of Art Degree from Middlebury College and a Master of Science Degree from Monmouth University. He earned his Ph.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Brother Michael’s assignments included Holy Name School, New York City, Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, Paramus High School, Paramus where he served as Principal, St. John’s High School, Belgium, St. Joseph Collegiate Institute Buffalo, N.Y. where he served as Principal and Director, Visitor of the La Salle Provincialate from 1996 to 2002, Migrant Ministry Project, Director of Education for the La Salle Provincialate, and Director of the Christian Brothers Academy Community, Lincroft.
Surviving are a brother-in-law, William J. Corcoran, Connecticut and a nephew, Brian Corry, Texas.
Visiting hours will be held at Christian Brothers Academy Residence Chapel, 850 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Brother’s Chapel on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Christian Brothers Section of St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro Township. Memorial donations to De La Salle Nursing, care of De La Salle Hall, 810 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
