Obituary of Mary Hazlegrove Johnson

Mary Hazlegrove Johnson, 90, of Lakewood died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Fountain View Care Center, Lakewood. Mrs. Johnson was born in Farmville, Virginia and had resided in Freehold Township before moving to Lakewood five years ago. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold. She was a graduate of Longview College, Farmville. She was a school bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School District before her retirement. Prior to that she was a 4th grade teacher in Virginia, Englishtown, and the West Freehold School. She was the widow of William F. Johnson, Sr. who died in 1998. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William F. Jr., and Sylvia Johnson; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted during the evening visiting hours.
