Obituary of Arnold Heifetz
Arnold Heifetz, 78, of Freehold Township passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.
Arnold was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and sung in the renowned Sam Sterner Jewish Choir in his youth. He was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. A graduate of New York University, he worked in adulthood as a manufacturer’s representative and sales manager in the furniture industry for Gimbel’s, Burris, Kroehler, and Juvenile Heirlooms. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.
Arnold served on the Juvenile Conference Committee, a committee serving the Superior Court of New Jersey, Monmouth County. His work on this committee was very meaningful to him and his compassion and sensibility were evident in his dedication to helping Monmouth County youth.
Arnold was the beloved husband of Selma (Shelly) Heifetz for 53 years; loving, devoted and respected father to Jacqueline Goldfinger and husband Joel, Suzanne Franzblau and husband Howard and cherished grandfather to Lauren and Rachel Goldfinger, and Jason, Gregory, and Brian Franzblau. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Saul and Diane Heifetz and sister Thelma Shikoff as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to Beth El Synagogue, 50 Maple Stream Road, East Windsor, NJ 08520 would be appreciated.
