Obituary of Rita Dougherty

Rita Dougherty, 95, of Freehold died February 3, 2016 at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson Township. She was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Dougherty was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. She was the widow of Eugene T. Dougherty who died in 2006. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Marsha Dougherty and Eugene and Ronnie Dougherty; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon and Michael, Tara and Jeremy, Patrick and Abigail, Christopher and Katie, Brian and Kim, Blake and Julie, Michael and Yeshnaya, and Luke; and 11 great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
