Obituary of Meltha B. Casey
Meltha B. Casey, 96, of Marlboro Township died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Care One at Jackson. Mrs. Casey was born in Marlboro Township and had resided there most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s R. C. Church, Marlboro Township.
Mrs. Casey was recognized by the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders for her work as a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II.
She was employed at Peerless Tube and later at the Henry A. Jacobs Company, Marlboro Township.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Shaun D. Casey, and four brothers, Harold, John, Charles Francis, and James A. Borden who was killed in action in World War II.
Surviving are three sons, Kevin R. Casey and his wife, Diana, Shaun D. Casey, and his wife Patricia, and James Borden Casey; two brothers, Rodney Borden and wife Joan and Carlton “Bud” Borden and wife Betty; five grandchildren, Lisa Kemp and husband Darren, Carolynn Casey and fiancé Jeffrey Reynolds, Sarah Verduci, and Michael and Elizabeth Casey; and four great grandchildren, Casey, Kylie and Caeden Kemp, and Ashlyn Verduci.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
