Obituary of Sheila Barbesh
Sheila Barbesh, 74, of Manalapan Township, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at home. Born in Newark, she lived in Freehold all her life, prior to moving to Manalapan Township six years ago.
Mrs. Barbesh was a member of the Freehold Jewish Center. Her family owned and operated the Freehold Pharmacy, Freehold for 70 years.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from Syracuse University in 1958.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Barbesh; her parents, Emanuel and Minnie Sosnow; her brother, Dr. William Sosnow; and a nephew, Martin Rogoff.
Surviving are two sons, Eric Barbesh, Manalapan Township, and Steven Barbesh and his wife, Wendy, Freehold; a daughter, Wendi Olitsky and her husband, David, Freehold; five grandchildren, Monica, Pamela and Lindsay Olitsky, and Amanda and Paige Barbesh; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Edith Rogoff, Trenton;three nephews, Mark Rogoff, Cincinnati, Ohio, Leigh Rogoff, Atlanta, Georgia, and Arthur Rogoff and his wife, Carolyn, Hamilton Township.
Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Oheb Shalom Cemetery, Hillside.
