Obituary of William E. Jones

William E. Jones, 57, of Southern Pines, N.C. died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He lived in Freehold most of his life and moved to Southern Pines approximately 15 years ago He was a land surveyor for approximately 25 years. He was a big Bruce Springsteen fan; he enjoyed music and going to concerts. Even after moving to the South, he remained loyal to the New York Yankees and the Giants. Since moving, he had taken a strong liking to NASCAR racing. He was the son of the late William R. and Janice E. Howell Jones. Survived by sister, Lela K. Spekin and her husband, Alan; two nieces and their families, Hallie LeBlanc and her husband, Douglas and their two sons, and Jenise Lucey and her husband, Mark and their daughter. Graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (www.MADD.org), or the charity of your choice.
