Obituary of Barbara Blanchard

Barbara Blanchard, 91, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Newark and had resided in Keansburg before moving to Freehold Township. Two of her greatest joys in life were her love of animals and her enjoyment of singing. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert G. Sr. and Marie Breton Braker; a brother, Robert G. Braker, Jr.; and two husbands, Howard Van Ness and Fred L. Blanchard. She is survived by a very devoted sister-in-law, Ivis Braker, who stood by her side through some trying times; two nieces, Debbie Tellier, Jackson Township, and Sandy Hans, Brick; a nephew, Robert G. Braker, III, Jackson Township; seven great nieces and nephews, including a special great nephew Zakary who brought her great happiness and joy. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses, aides, and everyone at Montgomery Care Center and Care Alternatives in Cranford for their exceptional care while she was with them. Graveside services will be held at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
