Obituary of John J. Wynn

John J. Wynn, 74, of Monroe Township died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in County Galway, Ireland and had resided in Rahway and Manalapan Township before moving to Monroe Township six years ago. He was a truck driver at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia where he was employed from 1967 until his retirement in 2002. He was a communicant of Nativity of Our Lord Church, Monroe Township. Mr. Wynn was a member of the Elizabeth Gales Gaelic Football Team and a member of the Nugent Association and McGovern Association. He enjoyed travelling especially to Hawaii and California and spending time with his grandchildren and dog. He was predeceased by a son, John P. Wynn and a brother, Todd Wynne. Surviving are his wife, Maureen Sharkey Wynn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Mike Tosuni and Eileen and George Likakis; two brothers Jim Wynne and wife Catherine and Frank Wynne and wife Monica; a sister, Mary Lynch; and four grandchildren, Milania Likakis, and Michael, Nicholas, and Joseph Tosuni. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery.
