Obituary of Tatiana Carvalho

Tatiana “Tania” Carvalho, 89, of Howell Township died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Carvalho was born in Bechkerek, Yugoslavia and had resided in Howell Township for the past 49 years. She was a hospital laboratory technician before her retirement. Mrs. Carvalho was a life member and chaplain of the Howell Township First Aid Squad and was known for wearing a red kerchief on calls. She was a member of the Howell Senior Citizens and was an interpreter and volunteer for the Howell Township Police Department. Her husband, Joseph Carvalho, died in 1986. Surviving are a son, Aleksander Carvalho and a daughter, Elizabeth Carvalho. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s R.O. Church, Jackson Township on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood.
