Obituary of Alfred Clayton Ralph
Alfred Clayton “Buddy” Ralph, 94, Middletown Township died Friday, July 15, 2011 in Southport, N.C.. Mr. Ralph was born and raised in Red Bank and resided in Middletown Township for 60 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Ralph was a banker and auditor in Red Bank, employed at Fort Monmouth, a postal worker, and a part-time bus driver before his retirement.
He was a former member of the Middletown Reformed Church and the Middletown Township Senior Citizens Club, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Middletown.
His wife, Frances Ralph, died in 2006. He was also predeceased by a brother, Elmer Ralph and two sisters, Pearl and Frances.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy Ralph, New Bern, N.C.; Ronald and Billie Bethe Ralph, Cayce, S.C., two daughters, Diane Leighton and husband William, Oak Island, N.C., and Lynn M. Ralph, Robbinsville; a brother, Ray Ralph; a sister, Myrtie Halsey; nine grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. followed by Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck. Visiting will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
