Obituary of Alice Getta

Alice Getta, 73, of Beachwood died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mrs. Getta was born in Newark and had resided in Monmouth Beach before moving to Beachwood 24 years ago. She was an operating room booking clerk at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township where she was employed for 25 years before her retirement in 2000. Her husband, John Getta, died in 1980. She was also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ann Buczynski and a son, Wayne R. Getta who died in 1995. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian and Sherri Getta, New Hope, Penn. and Richard Gustafson; a daughter, Lisa Bone, Texas; a brother, Joseph Buczynski, Florida; five grandchildren, Leslie and her husband Chris, Zachary, Ryan, Jake, and Michele and husband Brian; three great grandchildren, Destiny, Allison, and Brian; her beloved friend, Betty Layton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Beachwood First Aid Squad, 4 Beachwood Drive, Beachwood, NJ 08722 would be appreciated.
