Obituary of Gary B. Louk

Gary B. Louk, Sr., 66, of Freehold died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Mingo, West Virginia and had resided in Freehold for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Gary was an inventory control specialist for Sabert, Sayreville. He had worked various jobs during his time in Freehold including 14 years of service in the Freehold Police Department. He was a volunteer for the Freehold Borough Recreation Commission. His first wife, Carolyn Searby Louk, died in 1996. He was also predeceased by several siblings. Surviving are his wife, Susan Shea Louk; three sons, Gary B. Louk, Jr. and wife Marisa, Newport News, Virginia, Ronald Louk, Freehold, and Thomas Louk and wife Mary, Belford; two stepsons, Kenneth Huebsch and his wife Holly, Glen Allen, Virginia, and Greg Ploch and his wife Kelly, Bath, N.C. ; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Horton, Howell Township; a brother, Dan Louk; three sisters, Ella Shutzer, Rosemary Lamar, and Annabelle Dean; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Melissa, Leah, Bryant, and Melyssa Ashley. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
