Obituary of LouAnn Morris
LouAnn Morris, 76, of Freehold Township died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Morris was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident.
She was a private duty registered nurse before her retirement. Prior to that Mrs. Morris was a registered nurse at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital and for Dr. Glenn Barkalow, Freehold.
Mrs. Morris was a graduate of Ann May School of Nursing, Neptune Township, Class of 1955.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Freehold where she served on the Diaconate Board and as treasurer of the church’s Memorial Fund. She was also a member of American Baptist Women and Christian Women’s Club.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Molly Pitcher Chapter No. 198 and the Women’s Club of Freehold. She enjoyed crafting, camping, swimming, vacationing and her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, former Freehold High School teacher Arthur W. Bentz and Mary Holzinger Bentz.
Surviving are her husband, Willard O. Morris; a son, former Wall Township Police Chief David I. Morris and his wife, Nancy S. Morris; a daughter, Debra M. Clayton and her husband, Ross H. Clayton; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mary Bentz and four grandchildren, Mark W. Morris, Michael D. Morris, Kimberly S. Clayton and Jennifer A. Clayton.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 81 West Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
