Obituary of Jesse Robin Mills

Jesse Robin Mills, of East Windsor Township passed away on July 26, 2011 at home. He was born to the union of the late Jesse Robert and Vanella Mills in Philadelphia, PA. He was the oldest of four siblings. Jesse, affectionately known as Robin, was baptized at an early age at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Warrenton, NC. In 2000, he joined Bethel AME Church, Freehold. During his time at Bethel, he served on the Usher Board and always answered the call when asked to serve in any capacity. Jesse was a graduate of Bluford Elementary (formerly Hannah Elementary) and Dobbins Technical High School, both of Philadelphia, PA. Jesse was employed as a Digital Press Operator at Vertis Communications, Monroe Township. Jesse met and married the love of his life Corliss Smith on November 24, 2000. Loved ones that preceded Robin in death are his father, Jesse Robert Mills, brother, Domon Mills, and maternal and paternal grand parents Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Corliss Smith; a son, Jesse M. “Jay” Mills, Ambler, PA; one grand-daughter, AvaRae Mills, Ambler, PA; mother, Vanella Mills, Philadelphia, PA; sisters Joycella Burdette (Tim), Anaheim, CA, Juanita Brown (Lester, Sr.), Philadelphia, PA, mother in-law, Elma Maxine Smith, Durant, MS; God-children, Melanie Lynch, Tanesha Brown, Lester Brown II, and Briana Brown; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. To continue the Mills legacy, Jesse Robert Mills. Jesse was a proud member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe, Hollister, NC, where he enjoyed attending the yearly POW-WOW. He loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, member if the North American Hunting Club, and a skilled mechanic. Funeral services will be held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Road, Freehold on Tuesday at noon. The viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
