Obituary of Walter James Soden

Walter James “Jinx” Soden, Sr., 73, of Jackson Township died Monday, August 22, 2011 at Jersey Shore University Hospital, Neptune Township. He was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. He was a security guard at the Monmouth County Board of Social Services, John L. Montgomery Medical Home, and Hudson Manor. He was predeceased by two sons, Tommy and Walter, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Downs Soden; five sons, David, Ronnie, James, Wayne, and Joseph; five daughters, Virginia, Karen, Dustylee, Lacie, and Roxane; a brother, Donald Soden; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
