Obituary of Robert Daniel Gravatt

Robert Daniel Gravatt, 96, of the Clarksburg section of Millstone Township passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the home of his daughter, Harriet Metrosky, in Monroe, NC. A lifelong resident of Millstone Township, he was born June 8, 1919, son of the late Robert and Lily Test Gravatt. Mr. Gravatt will be remembered as a man who lived a quiet peaceful life who loved his family. He loved his fancy chickens and peacocks, reading, cars and motorcycles; in later years, nature and being outside. Mr. Gravatt was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 73 years, Florence Davis Gravatt, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Harriet Metrosky; two sons, Daniel R. Gravatt and wife, Penny, and John C. Gravatt and wife, Ellen; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Gravatt; and sisters, Jennie Boyle and Evelyn Zarges. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone followed by interment at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, 211 Millstone Road, Millstone Township, New Jersey 08535.
