Obituary of Solomon T. Hopkins

Solomon T. Hopkins, 62, of Freehold died Monday, February 23, 2009 at home. He was born in Newark and had resided in Freehold for over 30 years. He was a maintenance man and housekeeper for Pine Brook Care Center, Englishtown. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Bemberry Hopkins; a son, Solomon T. Hopkins, III, Freehold; two daughters, Pamela Hopkins, Germany and Dolice A. Hopkins, Freehold; a brother, Aiken Hopkins, Newark; three sisters, Zennie Davis, St. Matthews, S.C., Audrey Hopkins, Newark, and Michelle Hopkins, Irvington; an aunt, Mozella Murdaugh; and two cousins, Richard Caldwell, California and Alphina Murph, Irvington. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers donations care of the family would be appreciated.
