Obituary of William David Rakes

William David Rakes, 56, of Jackson Township died Monday, March 2, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and had resided in Freehold before moving to Jackson Township. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a courier for Quest Diagnostics, East Brunswick for the past 12 years. Prior to that he was employed the Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Jane Stiles Rakes; his father, Charles Mack Rakes, Kentucky; a son, Keith Allen Rakes, Washington State; and a host of family members. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown
